Dream Garden

The Dream Garden

Open the gate to the garden of dreams
But watch where you step nothing is what it seems
The flowers are stars with invisible stems
The planets are beautiful jewels and gems
Everything glitters and sparkles and glows
To transfer dimensions just wiggle your toes
Where nothings too hard or too sharp or too loud
Your bed is located on top of a cloud
You glide through your space with the greatest of ease
Magical musical chimes in the breeze
You can tame time to speed fast or creep slow
You decide high and the depth of your low
Catch a ride on a comet to visit your friend
Who lives in the galaxy just round the bend
Munch cosmic cookies and sip time warp tea
Then play a fun game of What Shape Shall I Be
This place does exist I have been there myself
And regular visits are good for your health
Where can the end of the Dream Garden be?
Depends on how much you are willing to see
Where does the edge of The Dream Garden lie?
When you open your eyes at the end of the nigh`

Written for my nephews…but its for you too, if you can manage the imagination 😉

Road Trip – Edmonton to Vancouver, Canada

Just before we left the city we stopped in to grab timbits, bagels, and coffee to go. It wasn`t even 5am yet but the sun was already diluting the darkness. Over the years I have driven through the mountains too many times to count but somehow the route we were about to take had always eluded me. If you are from Edmonton, you would most likely go through Jasper to get to Vancouver or perhaps take the via Calgary route. This time we were taking a slight detour in order to see the Icefields Parkway, one of the world`s most spectacular mountain highways. read more

My Last Day in Canada – Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

We woke up not too early but not too late and made our way out for the day. As we drove through the suburbs and over the bridges to get into downtown Vancouver, I spotted the occasional reminder of some random memory from my life here 10 years ago. A mall I would shop at, my first apartment, a gym I would work out at, a bus line I would take, a bridge I drove over oh so many times on my way to a night out. read more

Moving – Buenos Aires, Argentina

Cortney drove us to the Vancouver airport and waited while we checked in. We sat for a few minutes before saying goodbye and wouldn’t you know it. The waterworks began. I thought about all the things I was leaving and wondered when I would see them again. All the things that make Canada home for me…the big things that make your heart ache every so often…and the little things that make you sigh wistfully, surprised at your sensitivity and sentimentality. read more
