Gratitude to My Angel Network

There is no such thing as a “self-made” man. We are made up of thousands of others. Everyone who has ever done a kind deed for us, or spoken one word of encouragement to us, has entered into the make-up of our character and of our thoughts, as well as our success. – George Matthew Adams

When people ask me what I do, I always find myself telling them I am a writer. I mean, it’s the one thing that makes me feel whole. But I really didn’t think I would ever publish a book. It seemed presumptuous and arrogant to think any one would actually buy what I had to say…But that self-doubt has been extinguished by the following list of people who not only said they believed in me, but invested in my “impossible dream.”

Much love and Gratitude to the following people who make up the WhereSheGoes Angel Network by donating $50 or more to printing WhereSheGoes Volume One:

One young woman’s decade long tale of adventure, lessons in love and journey to authenticity as she travels the world independently. Follow Carmella as she explores the globe with reckless abandon. An unabashedly raw and charmingly genuine account of her real life experience taken directly from her travel diaries.

Nearly a decade ago, I left life as I knew it (rat race drone selling my soul to Corporate America) and took a risk. A big one. And this is my story of how it has worked out for me. Over the last ten years, I wrote what became a well read (to my surprise) travel blog. “Wandering around the world to see what I can find. Aimlessly from place to place with no real plan in mind. I have no idea what I am doing or where I am going. Every time I plan, things change. So… no more plan.”

One needs something to believe in, something for which one can have whole-hearted enthusiasm. One needs to feel that one’s life has meaning, that one is needed in this world. – Hannah Senesh

Volume one covers 2002 to 2003 travel in Switzerland, Greece, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, France, Spain, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand.

The Impact

For the first few years, I really had a hard time believing anyone was actually reading it other than my mom and maybe my sister. But now, I have had years of thank you letters confirming that I had many more follows than I could have imagined. Many have encouraged me to publish into a book so that those who do not have internet access can be inspired by the story. In the past year, I have been approached if I would allow my writing to be translated into Turkish, Arabic, and Korean. Last month, while travelling in Jordan I unexpectedly met one of my loyal readers. So here it is. I will publish it if you will help me. I already know I have had amazing support and don’t doubt that for a second. How else does a crazy Canadian girl run around the world alone unscathed? If it is time for this book to be published, then together we can make it happen.

We rely upon the poets, the philosophers, and the playwrights to articulate what most of us can only feel, in joy and sorrow. They illuminate the thoughts for which we only grope; they give us the strength and balm we cannot find in ourselves. Whenever I feel my courage wavering I rush to them. They will give me the wisdom of acceptance, the will and resilience to push on. – Helen Hayes

What We Need & What You Get

I have consulted with several publishers, copy editors, and designers. I want it to be affordable yet still professional and something to be proud of. Now we are just waiting on the funds.  If the funds are not raised, I will at the very least publish an eBook. If it is a resounding success, then I will be delivering these books around the world to help inspire others to follow their dreams. Check out the perks and see how you can touch the lives of underprivileged youth or contribute to libraries around the world by your donation. I remember, you said I could do it…now let’s see if you’re right.

Our true wealth is the good we do in this world. None of us has faith unless we desire for our neighbors what we desire for ourselves.- Mohammed
