Trickey Times

I was feeling very out of sorts on Saturday. I spent the day in a very confused state knocking my head into wall after wall finally giving myself a headache. I had several parties to go to that night but it was as if there was some dark force trying to keep me down. I don`t know how to describe my mind at this moment but it isn`t very pleasant. I can only compare it to a heavy stone falling down into a bottomless cold steel barrel. read more

Reality Check

The leaves are yellow and other shades of paleness sometimes matching the indecisive sky. We have had strange weather but then that is normal for this city, as I remember from my early years spring blizzards and scorching January afternoons. I am enjoying crunching autumn under my shoes and breathing in deep the crispness of the air. read more

Solid Friendships

So after I dropped Sebastian off at the airport, I met up with Nathan for sum dim sum. Though our visit was short, it was sweet and we both left lighter. My fortune cookie read: A pleasant surprise is in store for you soon.” Nice. read more

Effortless Flow

The next morning, I woke to find a thick blanket of fresh white snow adorning my sister city. I took extra care as I drove Kelly to drop off her car at the shop, as this is my first time driving standard in snow. I met up with Sebastian in the afternoon and we spent the day just hovering around each other being silly. I was pleased that he had finished all his preparations for his upcoming trip and we could share some time. read more

Peak human achievement

Saturday I hosted my first Special Breakfast with Jen, Dave and Jason. We devoured the Italian cheeses and eggs and spicy veggies with fervor. The green onion cakes and fruit gave it just the right balance and we were stuffed. Tea and coffee`d out, we all lazily sprawled out in my living room to bask in satisfaction. I am so lucky to have such culinary and artisitic talent in my circle of friends. read more

New Familiarity

In a matter of just a few days, my entire place was sorted and unpacked. The most magical thing happened as I was unwrapping items and unloading boxes. It was like things just gravitated to a spot or location, as if they knew just where they belonged. It was as if everything had a place and knew it. Every shelf fit my glassware and mugs as if they had lived there all their lives. Every drawer and hanger was used but not overstuffed. This is such a contrast from having way too much space and trying to compensate by spreading everything around and about. It gives the impression of scarcity making me feel like I should have more, even though I didn`t need more. read more

Smooth Move

The move went relatively seamlessly but I never could have done it alone. Moving out of suburbia and into the heart of the city was elating. But what I was really high off of was the amount of love I was shown from my family. They really showed up for me and without them, it`s quite possible that I would still be packing! read more
