Dessert Waffles – Naxos, Greece

I am leaving Naxos and going to Santorini in an hour. I have a great day sunning yesterday and then all the girls (they caught up with me again!) went for dinner and the shopped then for the most delicious waffles with carmel, bananas and ice cream….mmmm.

Santorini is supposed to be absolutely breathtaking. I can`t wait to get there. I hope that all is well where you are. I am just burning all my pics so far onto a cd so hopefully I will have a site up and running somewhere so you can s read more

A Little Alone time – Naxos, Greece

Its raining today. Which is actually not too bad. It smells really nice. Its very refreshing in such a hot climate. Last nite Marlena and I went out for dinner then just watched the nightlife. Today she left for Ios. I decided to stay put. I am having some really good wind down time. Catching up on some writing and reading. I was watching TV today and the only thing on was Melrose Place. Man, I can`t believe they still air that! It was all subtitled so it was very funny (as if the acting wasn`t read more

Carbonara Potato Improv – Naxos, Greece

Having a ball in Naxos. Its soooo hot here. I mean hotter than normal, which is still pretty hot. I really love the hotel, it has a pool. The little shops are so cute and there are thousands of little trinkets I would love to buy for you all but they mostly glass and I know they would not travel well. 🙁 But the thought is there.

Special Treatment for Women – Paros, Greece

Last night we all (all the girls) went out for dinner and got treated like princesses. They gave as free wine all night and when the rose lady came, one of the waiters bought us a rose. It was so sweet. The owner gave us some of his special seafood paella. It was delicious. And for dessert the sweetest watermelon.

Do NOT Yogurt the Burn – Paros, Greece

I am burnt. Opps. I did put sunscreen on but the sun was so strong yesterday. So we went for our seafood dinner and in the middle I started itching. So a few people suggested that I apply yogurt. What a novel idea! People outside of North America haven’t heard of Noxema. I told my Aussie friends that I would send them a tub of this miracle cream.

Feeding in the Greek Isles – Paros, Greece

I am having a terrific time in Paros. The seafood here is indescribable. You are literally eating seafood that was swimming around hours before its in your mouth. I tried to fish yesterday with no avail but the view was well worth it. I have been just working on my tan and eating greek food.

Horrible Huts and Refreshing Rooms – Paros, Greece

I found everything in Athens ok. I got to my new hostel and even tho it was really hot, it was sans cockroaches. That was good. I went on a walking tour of Athens and saw a ton of sites including the Acropolis. I got some great pics of the sun setting over Athens. I made the group (Straytravel) late because i didn’t sleep the night before. It was soooo hot. We just made the ferry to Mykonos and settled in for a 6 hour ride. I met polish Marlena from Oz and we hit it off right away. She is beautiful and funny.

Getting to Greece – Athens, Greece

I am lost in Athens. But I think I am beginning to sort things out. The train ride from Switzerland to Venice was long but I got there ok. The language barrier is beginning to become more and more prevalent. Then I got lost all around Venice. Luckily I had the entire day to find the port I was leaving from.

Making New Friends – Interlaken, Switzerland

Could it get any better than this? I am so happy sometimes its hard. I had to say goodbye yesterday. My friend Lauren (sink girl 😉 ) left and I almost cried. How is it that you can know someone for three days and get so attached? I think I am just lucky to be meeting the best people. I miss the Aussies too but I know I will be seeing them soon.

Canyoning and Motoring – Interlaken, Switzerland

Wow. I went canyoning today. It was nothing short of spectacular. First I rappelled down a 150 meter canyon, then we jumped, slid and climbed through more than a mile of beautiful Swiss Canyon. It was a little cold but we had wet suits on (as well as all the safety garb, Mom). My favorite part was when I zip lined down and right in the middle, they yell to let go and you drop 5 meters or so into a pool of glacier water.
